The footprint was 1st discovered in 2010 by a student at the Universidad Austral of Chile. Scientists then worked for years to rule out the chance that the print could have belonged to another species of animal, and to work out the fossil's calculable age.
Karen Moreno, a paleontologist with the Universidad Austral United Nations agency has overseen the studies, aforementioned researchers had additionally found bones of animals close to the positioning, as well as those of primitive elephants, however determined that the footprint was proof of human presence.
