In one more dramatic flip of events in Jatiya Party, Chairman metric linear unit Ershad last night appointed his brother g Quader acting chairman of the party.

At AN emergency group discussion around 11:00pm at his Baridhara home, former military dictator Ershad, United Nations agency has been tormented by old-age ailments for the last six months, announced, “Daily activities of the Jatiya Party chairman was being hampered because of ailments. That’s why i'm appointing Jatiya Party co-chairman g Quader MP as acting chairman of the party to hold out the task till additional notice.”

Ershad, 89, looked weak and sick at the informing. He stumbled whereas reading out his statement from a chunk of paper. g Quader scan out components of it for him.

When reporters affected to raise Ershad questions on his latest call, the leader of the opposition aforesaid he came to the informing right once arousal from sleep.

Ershad has been virtually inactive within the party for the past six months. He joined just one parliament sitting out of twenty six of the eleventh parliament’s 1st session. He took half in no sittings of the second session that terminated on Gregorian calendar month thirty.

In the last four months, Ershad declared a minimum of fourfold that g Quader would act because the party’s chairman in his absence or once he goes abroad for treatment.

On March twenty two, he eased his brother from the post of JP co-chair, locution that Quader did not discharge his duties and created divisions inside the party.

He aforesaid Quader wholly did not discharge his duties which was why the party’s organisational activities lost steam. Party’s senior leaders conjointly expressed frustration over Quader’s leadership.

A day later, Quader was off from the post of deputy leader of the opposition.

Twelve days later, Ershad in a very statement reinstated him to the JP co-chair post.
